The biggest barrier to what God has called us to be is not how people will respond to us; rather, it is finding those who will go. Jesus was confronting this biggest barrier to evangelism and discipleship both then and today-that of motivation.

I love to talk to missionaries and hear their stories. It gives me a sense of perspective of how God works. I have heard some of the most heart wrenching stories and such great efforts to overcome great difficulties. Stories of a spouse being killed and the other taking over, such as with Elizabeth Elliott and her incredible story of how her husband was speared by South American Indians.

The goal of missions as well as the Christian life is our wondrous fear of and friendship with Christ! We start with Him and we end well with Him...

We need to put out the effort and do.
Rom. 12:1-3 tells us "to present ourselves as living sacrifices holy and pleasing to God…" just like a Marine finishing boot camp and placing himself for duty; so must we place ourselves in His service. We are to offer ourselves daily! Before our feet hit the ground when we get out of bed, our focus is to be in His will! Jesus is our supreme commander, so say "Yes sir, here I am, ready for service!"

This Bible reading plan will take you through the entire Bible in an historical linier timeline order with the first events first to the last. Each line represents a days reading, you may progress as you do your devotions in any order you would like. This list will take one year if each line is read each day. If you read more on one day and less on another, you can still track your progress.

What does the Bible say about Tongues?
This gift is a matter of hot dispute among many theologians in the Pentecostal, Charismatic and Reformed camps. So, all I can do is show you what the Word has to say, not what people think it should say! (This is why I told you to read it first!) A biblical definition of tongues is speaking in a language that you do not know, that you have not learned, so that another person can supernaturally hear the Gospel or message from God through you in their language. Thus, Tongues is supposed to verbally articulate and point to the Gospel of Christ.

There is one quintessential aspect of what makes a person a good witness and missionary. And, that is, confidence in your faith! It has been my experience and observation that people who are good missionaries are confident in their faith.

Read through the Bible weekly.
This Bible reading plan is designed to be more flexible for you. So instead of having an assigned daily reading, you have your reading for the entire week. That way you can fit into your busy schedule, as sometimes we have more time on one day and not another.
